I have to say that all too often we are faced with these decisions that seem so small in the beginning but end up changing our lives forever. This is the story of just that. Someone looking to fill a void resulting in changing a life. We all do it and regardless of sexual orientation, this is a human tale and one we are all familiar with.
This is a good sit on the beach or lazy Sunday afternoon read... for the fun of it.
Denied Love is more than a romance novel. It is a study in what ignites and sustains passion. Even what passion is and what drives it. When I started reading I was prepared for a "romance novel" and nothing more. Instead Ms Roberts vividly describes the subtleties in what causes attraction and how its unconscious intelligence leads to unexpected consequences. It is also the tale of how passion and the need to know something more about who we are will drive us in a powerful way to forgo the known and comfortable and reach beyond ourselves. It is a well written and passionately told story that will keep you guessing and hopefully stir some thoughts as to how you too can expand who you are!
Have you ever started a book, then couldn't wait to finish it, but then realized you need to slow down, because when you finish it, that's it - no more. When you are done, you are done. So then you finish the book, and then pick it up and start reading it again? Whew! Well that's how it was with this book, "Denied Love", written by January Roberts. It is a cute, typical triangle love affair about an artist in Santa Fe, her successful fiance' and her motorcycle lover in Taos. Maggie makes the time to run between the two places and the two men in her life, successfully runs her gallery, all the time trying to justify the affair. The story is well done. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys quick reads and enjoys jumping right into the story. With its local flavor, it is not hard to imagine yourself in the northern part of the state - taking motorcycle rides between Taos and Santa Fe.
